Australian Cerebral Palsy Register
The Cerebral Palsy Institute (an initiative of The Spastic Centre) in conjunction with Sargents and Macquarie Bank, has developed a web-based register that will record the incidence of cerebral palsy (CP) in Australia.
One of the major aims of the register is to research the causes and prevention of CP. For people currently living with CP, we anticipate the register will also supply accurate statistics to government for funding, facilitate more research and improve the quality of current research into the important issues of ageing and effective treatment options.
There are an estimated 34,000 people living with CP across Australia. As the largest CP register in the world, the Australian Cerebral Palsy Register will offer an unparalleled opportunity for research breakthroughs.
